Atlanta, GA.
Paul and I were "growing up" friends . . . we still are!
Hard to "figure" Life and God, sometimes!
Paul's parents died when he was 12 or 13 . . . first his father from a heart attack; then,
about two years later, his Mom from cancer.
Paul and his sisters Debra and Vicky moved to Liberty, about 40 miles away. Our contact
lessened to "every few weeks" visits . . . after we each obtained our driver's license.
Paul went to Viet Nam, twice. Me? I was married, working 40-60 hours/week at Western Electric
Company (eg: AT&T), and going to night school. Yea, I tried to enlist, but my legs got me a
"4-F" status. Sigh. Legs are okay, normal, augmented with stainless steel pins in each hip.
After 'Nam, Paul completed a four-year degree at A&T University in Greensboro, N.C. . . .
Electronics and Information Systems, and was hired as a Network Systems Engineer with General
Electric in Mebane, N.C.
Paul was a whiz-genius at things mechanical and electronic! He took a 1956 Chevy down to its
chassis, completely rebuilt its motor, installed a 4-speed stick, extra performance stuff
on the engine, etc., etc. That was one really neat car!
Paul married, and fathered a boy and a girl. His wife died . . . two small children to raise by
himself. About two years later, Paul died from a brain tumor....
Why????!!!!!
