September 2004 - May 2005

After completing my work with MERCI in Carteret County, N.C., I moved to Morehead City, N.C. While in Morehead City, I purchased a 1997 Chevy Van. After several visits to the local Chevy dealer, to have needed mechanical work performed, I loaded my few possessions into the van and a 4x6 U-Haul trailer ..... and started a cross-country road trip.

I drove on US-70 to Raleigh, N.C.; then, the I-40 route to Barstow, CA. on my west-bound trip. On my way back east, I drove the I-10 route from Barstow to I-20 in Dallas, TX; then, I-20 to I-85 in Atlanta, GA; then, I-85 to Burlington, N.C.

On the west coast, I travelled I-5 to northern California and Oregon; then, travelled on CA-1 (Pacific Coast Highway) to Los Angeles.
