Work History:

  • July 1990 - March 2004: Website Developer.

Reference websites:

My Oak Island businesses were incorporated under an "umbrella" corporation called Island Online, Inc.

At the time I developed websites in the Oak Island and Southport, N.C. area, a company named 'Brunswick Computers' was extant. The websites I developed were hosted at BCINET.NET. I am not sure if the above link is to that same entity, owner, management personnel.

During the latter years of living on Oak Island, I worked both residential maintenance / construction and website development. During the summer months at the beach, maintenance/construction work was not a full-time pursuit. This allowed me to focus the majority of my work effort on website development. During the other seasons, I was very busy (at times) doing both construction and website development.

My client companies included:

  • A real estate sales and management company.
  • A locally-focused community services and interests website for my Internet service provider.
  • A company specializing in upscale apparel and jewelry.
  • A company which imported and sold Far East (eg: Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam) furniture, apparel, home furnishings, and art.
  • A company that manufactured and sold specialty equipment for police/military SWAT teams.
  • A company that hoped to succeed with a social-networking website, with various sections of the website focused on specific ethnic-based groups.
  • A church website.
  • A company that proposed to develop a ranch for rehabilitation of delinquent youth.
  • A previous version of The MERCI Mission Center website.
  • Previous versions of The North Carolina Building Inspector's Association website.
Unlike most current websites which have a common "look and feel", I tried to develop websites with a unique "look and feel" for each of the above companies, based upon customer-defined guidelines and requirements.

I archived to CD each of the above websites during their "alive and active" period. I hope to include a "front page snapshot" web page for each of the above.
