I'm parked at a Petro truck stop in Fargo ND waiting for sunlight and for the wind to slack up a bit.
Earlier, at 0230, I tried running west; but, turned around and came back to the Petro because the wind
was blowing at 40+ mph (with stronger gusts) sideways to the truck, and the roadway and driving lanes
were frequently covered by blow-in snow.
The load in the box is light weight, only 16,000 pounds. This is one run that a heavy load, 44,000 pounds,
would be nice to have. Non-trucking folks may not know that a tractor-trailer rig can be blown off the
highway by strong winds - sometimes, even in 40-mph winds if the road is slick or icy. Trying to correct
the course of a wind-blown rig can cause the accident.
Anyway, while waiting for sunlight and less wind, I have put together this page of photos taken during the
few days. The first two were taken in Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu Quebec (near Montreal); the others, yesterday
while driving across Wisconsin and Minnesota.
