One of my friends whom I emailed about the bandage, was persistent in wanting to know how it felt when I pulled off the duct tape. My reply to him follows.
Well, ole Bubba (me) consulted the senior night-shift waitress at the Flying Hook (Flying J) truck stop, and that's one smart black woman (though, kinda big at 5'2" and 300+ lbs.). She told me the ONLY time you puts the sticky side of duct tape on a body part is when you wants to remove it permanently! ....such as planters warts, unwanted hairs, nails, teeth, etc. Miss Thelma told me to overlap 4-foot lengths of duct tape and form a piece 6-inches wide by 4-feet long. Then, make another piece just like the first. Then, put one on top of the other, sticky sides inside. Put it around my waist, and use short pieces of duct tape to fasten the "belt" in place.
But I can tell you from using duct tape as a small band-aid, with folded-up toilet paper as a "holder" for anti-biotic cream that was stuck to the middle of the sticky side - from years of carpentry work while living at Oak Island N.C. - that duct tape WILL pull away lose flaps of skin and meat! How did it feel? Depends on how many beers or wine I drank before removing the band aid.... one beer, it hurt as bad as being burned by a hot match ....two or more beers, and "aw, hell, just yank the damn thing off, and don't worry about it!"
